Miami Cruises

Location Sail: four Cruise Ships in Miami

Video clip from a rear balcony on the Carnival Future as it embarks from the Port of Miami on October twenty, 2008. Seen leaving in advance of it is the Carnival Imaginiation. The Future is adopted by Royal Caribbean International’s Majesty of the Seas, and NCL’s Norwegian Sky, both of which are at first viewed when muster drills are in process. The tug boat Florida escorts the Future out of the channel into the Atlantic Ocean as we bid Miami and South Beach front farewell and start our 5-evening Jap Caribbean cruise. See the “Days of Future” playlist for other videos from this voyage!

  1. I will get to put my video editing skills to the test soon. My girlfriend and I will be taking this very same cruise Jan 21st 2013 – right before it goes into dry dock for refit. Only our first port is Grand Turk, then Half Moon Cay and finally Nassau.

  2. It’s obvious you put a lot of time and thought into these videos (watched all of them), but the limitations of your little point and shoot camera were pretty evident. The out of focus grainy stills & video could have been left on the cutting room floor. Additionally, shooting in portrait mode is never a good idea. Some of your song choices were kind of somber and detracted from the experience.

On the plus side, it was very comprehensive. The comments and transitional effects were stellar.

  7. I wish NCL would put clouds as Norwegian Sky's hull art in stead of flowers, those flowers were from her old livery, clouds would make better sense, hence Norwegian SKY

  9. @ManWhoLovesTheMary No, the Norwegian Sky is seen behind Majesty OTS at that point in the video. It was the last of the cruise ships to embark that day.

  11. Older ships, like Carnival's former "Holiday Class" vessels, usually are sold or transferred to cruise lines in Europe or Asia. After several more decades of service they'll likely end up being sold for scrap.
