Sailing Mediterranean – Gibraltar & South Spain

Distant Shores Season 1-1
Paul and Sheryl Shard complete a transatlantic passage aboard their 11-metre sailboat, “Two-Step”, and enter the Mediterranean Sea where they make landfall in Gibraltar. Next, they sail over to Ceuta on the North African coast. Then a voyage along the Costa del Sol of Spain where Sheryl visits the local markets and demonstrates how to prepare “Paella”, a traditional Spanish meal. The highlight of this show is the dramatic Spanish festival of “Corpus Cristi” in a small mountain town where flowers are strewn in the streets.

  4. So you realize that the high-speed ferries there, were the Toronto <==> Rochester ferries whose business plan went south in days flat? They were shipped to Gibraltar for that.

  6. It seems a very good series. Thinking of doing something similar, after renovating an older cruiser. But it feels, seems so scripted…. Be yourselves, would be more fun, not only for your viewers, but probably for you too. Relax, enjoy your dream trip. All that said, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest you have to show.

  19. always a pleasure to hear what you are up to. We watched pretty much all the episodes on T & E . Now on youtube ? even better. 8 hrs drive from Sherbrooke to Toronto… Go to the Montreal boat show … european atmosphere city …
We put our condo for sale, then boat purchase, then cruise the canals , finger lakes, and down to florida , bahamas and turks and caicos .
The only night mare left is the health insurance mess … we feel prisoners of our system.
