WORLD’S BEST CRAYFISH and PĀUA in Wairarapa, New Zealand | New Zealand food tour

Tora Collective will start home orders delivering to the whole of New Zealand in November 2020. Check their website for updates: and follow them on social media @toracollective

A MASSIVE thank you to Claire and Troy for sharing their story, feeding us and letting us camp in their backyard. You guys are champs!

In this episode we take you to the Tora Coast in the Wairarapa on the east coast of Te- Ika-a Maui, the North Island. We go behind the scenes of a sustainable fishing business Tora Collective, owned and operated by Troy Bramley and Claire Edwards. Tora Collective fish for crayfish (rock lobster) and pāua (abalone), delivering the fresh seafood from their backyard to their customers around New Zealand mere hours after it leaves the ocean. This is New Zealand’s FRESHEST lobster (crayfish) and abalone (pāua).

We are travelling the length of Aotearoa New Zealand to hunt down New Zealand’s best food. This NZ food series will delve into the heart of our country’s food culture, we’ll share the foods Kiwis love to eat, go behind the scenes of New Zealand’s favourite restaurants and gather and cook New Zealand’s unique food. #newzealand #seafood #crayfish

We’re Thomas and Sheena, food and travel fiends. We travel full time, hunting for the BEST local food in the world to showcase via our YouTube videos. Food is a window into a country’s culture and one of the most exciting ways to get to know a place.

We’re all about eating what and where the locals eat. You won’t find food that’s been created merely to be social media worthy on here- no rainbow bagels, gold leaf soft serves- just genuine, authentic food that tastes incredible.

From street food to mom and pop restaurants, we want to show you the best and most authentic food we find on our travels.

  20. What they are doing is going to keep the numbers up,such a cool company, and couple. But what really chaps my undies,is when i hear Kiwis say "New Zilland",there's no I in New Zealand. Petty gripe, but it is what it is. 🙂

I said on your last video that it was my favourite, but this one tops it. That seafood looks divine!! 😍 What a great way to showcase these businesses who believe in sustainable fishing. I loved their story and what they stand for. The owners seem like great people.
